چکیده
Defining the damage and deflection from impact by using only energy could be misleading due to effect of momentum. In addition, reinforced concrete columns might subjected repeated loading. Hence, this study presents numerical simulation 16 RC with identical sizing reinforcement details, equal energy-double loadings a free-falling mass at midspan. The was kept constant for both impacts. For each analysis, momentum varied varying velocity impactor. axial load ratios are between 0.0 0.3 compressive strength cross-section. results clearly addressed on responses. level affected specimens’ behavior under same input energy. A high yielded more global flexural large deflection, low produced local slight deflection. helps maintain resistance capacity. However, failure determined pattern first changed when second shear mode presence load. Further, colliding index considering used in prediction equation. proposed equation improved calculation accuracy beams but different impact.

Nonlinear Dynamic Response of Functionally Graded Porous Plates on Elastic Foundation Subjected to Thermal and Mechanical Loads
In this paper, the first-order shear deformation theory is used to derive theoretical formulations illustrating the nonlinear dynamic response of functionally graded porous plates under thermal and mechanical loadings supported by Pasternak’s model of the elastic foundation. Two types of porosity including evenly distributed porosities (Porosity-I) and unevenly distributed porosities (Porosity-...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of FRP-Jacketed RC Columns Subjected to Cyclic Loading
This paper presents a study that forms part of an ongoing project on the seismic retrofit of reinforced concrete (RC) structures with fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP). In this study, a stress-strain model for FRP-confined concrete subjected to cyclic loading was implemented into OpenSees to support the performance-based design of FRP jackets for the seismic retrofit of RC columns/structures. Init...
متن کاملThe Nonlinear Response of Cracked Aluminum Shells Subjected to Combined Loads
The results of a numerical study of the nonlinear response of thin unstiffened aluminum cylindrical shells with a longitudinal crack are presented. The shells are analyzed with a nonlinear shell analysis code that accurately accounts for global and structural response phenomena. The effects of initial crack length on the prebuckling, buckling and postbuckling responses of a typical shell subjec...
متن کاملresponse of coupled-precast shear walls subjected to cyclic loads
large panel precast structures are analyzed based on the connection rigidity. however, the connections undergo nonlinear and inelastic response, when subjected to seismic loads. thus, to study the actual behavior of structure, the connection nonlinearity should be implemented in the joints. in this paper, three conventional connection types are modeled based on the envelope of their cyclic resp...
متن کاملDynamic Response Analysis of Fractionally Damped Beams Subjected to External Loads using Homotopy Analysis Method
This paper examines the solution of a damped beam equation whose damping characteristics are well-defined by the fractional derivative (FD). Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) is applied for calculating the dynamic response (DR). Unit step and unit impulse functions are deliberated for this analysis. Acquired results are illustrated to show the movement of the beam under various sets of parameters ...
